Book Recycling Scheme
How it works:
- You donate your unwanted books (adult fiction & autobiography only please)
- You take them down to the Village Community Shop and hand them in at the counter
- You buy a different one (or two, or three...!)
- You get that "feel good" factor for donating or buying and some absolute bargains to boot.
Books cost just 50p each - and when you've finished with them, simply bring them back again! (A couple of polite requests - please hand your donations in at the counter, as bags left in the foyer obstruct access and please no boxes full, as the shop doesn't have the storage space. Please note that we no longer accept videos. Thank you.).
All money raised goes to benefit village organisations, which receive the sum of £50 each time.
All beneficiaries are encouraged to “Pay It Forward”, by doing something kind
or supportive for another village organisation, rather than simply accepting
the donation – it’s entirely voluntary, but examples are donating surplus
fruit, vegetables or flowers to the village shop or offering some time to mow the
churchyard or help in the school.

If you are a parish organisation which would like to be considered for a £50 donation from this scheme, please contact Linda Durno on 01249-750514 or e-mail kingtonstmichael@btinternet.com. N.B. If at any time there is a surfeit of books then, due to lack of storage space, we will pass them on to a charity shop rather than waste them.
