Dear Residents,

To celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s historic 70 years as our Monarch, Kington St. Michael will be organising many events and we need your help. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage our whole community.

EMAIL: ksmqpj@gmail.com If you or your local group/club has suggestions about how you can help support this event. Or just get in touch to say hello, and ask to be kept informed. All ideas welcome.

FOLLOW: Please follow our page on Facebook @KSMQPJ (click on the Facebook logo above) for updates, and check out the Jubilee logo competition.

VOLUNTEER: To make this event happen we need a team to plan KSM’s celebrations, ensuring everyone in our community can access the Jubilee celebration day. No doubt, plenty of bunting will be involved. If you can help in any way please email
ksmqpj@gmail.com

Finally, LOOK OUT for events associated with the QPJ and come along to support and help fund raise.

Many thanks,

Liz Allen

News

February Update:
After much thought we’ve decided to focus on ONE Jubilee event of The Big Lunch on Sunday 5th June. This will involve a road closure during the middle period of the day as mentioned in the recent village newsletter.  It may continue into the evening.
This event will involve bringing food to share with your friends and neighbours and The Club, pub, cafe and village hall will be open for drinks and facilities. This will mainly take place near these venues in the village.
We’ve decided against a ticketed event for two reasons: the difficulties in organising events over consecutive days, and because Kington Club is planning a festival on the QE2 Field a few weeks later.
As it stands we have no plans to light a beacon on Thursday 2nd June at 9pm, although please do express an interest if you’d like this in KSM? Thankyou.

Donation
Thanks go to the Book Recycling Scheme for its donation of £50.

Cake Sale Result

Thank you to everyone who supported this starter event - we raised £250!
